Wood is currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Department Manager for our Houston, TX Office. Candidates will be expected to work out of our Houston (Park Ten) campus without relocation assistance or per diem.
Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.
Job Description:
Responsible for the leadership and management of the Supply Chain Department for projects in our Houston Execution Hub, responsible for the effective execution of the Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Expediting, Logistics, Supplier Inspection, Subcontracting, and Materials Management functions.
A high-profile role within the Company reporting directly to the Regional Sr. Supply Chain Manager, with ultimate responsibility for an annual spend of circa $500M across a diverse project portfolio, and the direct administration of a team of 50-75 supply chain professionals.
Responsible for delivering functional strategy and key functional / business objectives e.g. cost savings, working capital improvement, people development, operational/regional synergy efficiencies, insourcing, personnel deployment, and policy adherence.
Key aspects of the role include being responsible for adding value through driving efficient project execution, implementing improvement plans, development of the supply chain teams, driving processes and systems improvement and embedding compliance, and assurance and common ways of working. The individual will sit as part of the regional Supply Chain leadership team and support wider Supply Chain strategy and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Resource management and planning considering workload backlog; prospects and assessment of new business maximizing utilization and billability.
Attraction, retention, and engagement of the right resources for home office or site positions.
Retain resources in the right cost mix to maintain a balanced and competitive position in the market served.
Engaged in recruiting and interviewing potential candidates, including facilitation of the hiring process with Wood’s People Organization.
Cooperate with People Organization to manage the release of personnel in accordance with legislative requirements.
Onboarding and induction of new staff personnel.
Manage promotions and salary adjustments.
Conduct the performance evaluation of the Supply Chain team and provide feed-back through performance reviews and career development program.
Ensure all Supply Chain activities are executed in accordance with approved company policies and procedures.
Ensure effective and profitable execution of all projects from Supply Chain perspective. Ensure effective risks assessment and mitigations are employed.
Review and approve commercial documents and agreements in accordance with Company’s Delegation of Authorities.
Assure that the office maximizes use of Category Master Agreements for proposals and Project execution.
Technical Subject Matter Expert for the Project Supply Chain Managers within the project portfolio.
Maintain Sponsor level relationships with Client’s Supply Chain Leadership.
Participate in direct business development sessions with Client’s, including presentation preparation and delivery.
Provide Supply Chain strategy inputs for proposal – execution, staffing, sourcing, estimating.
Provide input and guidance for estimating strategies for all third party equipment, materials, and services (professional, technical, construction).
Provide adequate resource support to estimating to collect market prices for material and subcontracted construction services.
Provide guidance and training where necessary to the Project Supply Chain Managers for prime contract review and flow-down process – including development and negotiation of complex terms & conditions.
Skills / Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience in executing mega-EPC(m) projects with local and remote resources, and utilization of global low-cost execution centers.
Familiarity of Category Management, Master Agreements, and Standardization.
Experience in executing projects utilizing robust material management ERP systems such as AVEVA, SmartPlant, and SAP.
Experience in contract formation, negotiating complex terms and conditions, and establishing commercial strategies.
Successful history of leading and executing large complex EPC projects ($1 billion+ in materials & equipment spend).
Experience with global sourcing of equipment, materials, and modules, including proficient knowledge of international logistics and import/export controls.
Experienced in executing projects with a large modularization component. Knowledgeable of the associated schedule development, material and equipment sourcing strategy, contract formation, and the international supplier market.
Experience and advanced understanding of Purchasing, Expediting, Transportation & Logistics, Supplier Quality Inspection, Subcontracting, and Home Office & Site Materials Management functions.
Ability to travel domestically and globally as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Minimum 10 years’ Procurement experience demonstrating results and progression to a similar position.
Detailed understanding of key contracting procurement concepts, principles, and terms and conditions.
Robust knowledge of Head Contracts and commercial management, and bility to undertake complex commercial evaluations and negotiations.
Familiarity with industry Supply Chain principles and techniques.
Strategic and Tactical Procurement.
