He currently serves as Senior Safety Manager of Corporate Safety Programs for Energy Transfer, where he leads strategic safety initiatives that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, contractor management, industrial hygiene, and workforce safety across the organization.\nCharles holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Safety from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Science in Fire and Emergency Management Administration from Oklahoma State University. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), serves as an adjunct instructor, and remains actively engaged in advancing the safety profession through leadership, education, and industry involvement.\nThroughout his career, Charles has been passionate about developing practical safety solutions, strengthening safety culture, and helping organizations achieve operational excellence while protecting their most valuable asset—their people. His leadership has contributed to significant improvements in safety performance, contractor oversight, safety leadership development, and organizational accountability initiatives.\nOutside of his professional responsibilities, Charles is a devoted family man. He has been married to his wife, Charnay Hightower, CPA, for 15 years. Together they are raising their two children, Charles Hightower III (“Tripp”), age 12, and Camille Hightower, age 8. Family remains at the center of everything he does and serves as a constant source of motivation and inspiration.\nWhen he is not focused on safety leadership, Charles enjoys spending time on the golf course. While he readily admits he is far more passionate about golf than he is skilled at it, he enjoys every opportunity to play.
