Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties Partners with Move For Hunger to Combat Food Insecurity

August 26, 2024

ATLANTA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties is proud to announce its partnership with Move For Hunger, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing food waste and fighting hunger.

Move For Hunger has mobilized leaders in the moving, relocation, and multi-family industries to provide a sustainable solution for food insecurity. Through this partnership, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties aims to make a meaningful impact in the communities it serves.

“We recognize that millions of people face hunger every day,” says DeAnn Golden, President and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties. “As a company committed to supporting home ownership and community well-being, we are thrilled to collaborate with Move For Hunger. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thank you to Orlando Lynch and Atlanta Peach Movers for their generous donation of moving boxes and their assistance in the delivery of non-perishable items. Their contributions have played a significant role in making this program a success.”

How It Works:

1. Sellers’ Food Donations: When assisting sellers with the home selling process, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties encourages them to collect non-perishable food items. These donations will help feed families in need.

2. Distribution: The collected food is then distributed to local food banks and pantries in the surrounding areas. By partnering with Move For Hunger, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties ensures that these donations reach those who need them most.

3. Agent Involvement: With over 1,300 agents across Georgia, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties empowers its team to make a difference in each community. Agents actively participate in food drives and promote awareness about food insecurity.

“Our agents are passionate about giving back,” says Wendy Allen, DEI Officer and SVP, Managing Broker. “Through this partnership, we can turn every home sale into an opportunity to fight hunger.”
