OVERVIEW
The API Inspection & Mechanical Integrity Summit (IMIS) is the premier conference that brings together professionals from across the inspection and mechanical integrity landscape. The event offers a comprehensive experience, including specialized training sessions, technical presentations, exhibitor showcases and invaluable networking opportunities.

The Summit serves a wide array of the industry with content specific to upstream, midstream, downstream, petrochemical and multi-sector industries (collectively referred to as “divisions”). Each division is further organized into focused disciplines or technical tracks like Inspection/NDE /Monitoring, Engineering & Asset Integrity and Corrosion/Metallurgy among others.

Each Summit begins with an optional training day that offers in-depth courses, followed by two and a half days of educational sessions, industry presentations and an exhibit hall featuring cutting-edge technologies supporting inspection and mechanical integrity across sectors.

Summit Theme: Maintaining Asset Integrity in the Evolving Energy Industry
As the energy industry continues to evolve with advancements in technology, regulatory changes, and the transition to sustainable energy sources, maintaining asset integrity remains a critical priority. Ensuring the safety, reliability, and longevity of infrastructure requires proactive strategies, innovative inspection techniques, and adherence to industry standards.

The 2026 Summit theme, Maintaining Asset Integrity in the Evolving Energy Industry, will be reflected throughout the technical sessions, guiding the selection of topics and framing discussions to align with current industry shifts and emerging priorities. This theme explores the challenges and opportunities in asset integrity management, including the impact of aging infrastructure, digital transformation, predictive maintenance, and risk mitigation. Industry leaders and experts will discuss best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory considerations that shape the future of asset integrity in a rapidly changing energy landscape.

Each day will offer technical sessions that span various areas of the oil, gas, chemical, and petrochemical industries that run concurrently. The Summit’s main program for all sessions, including panels, runs Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Individual presentation sessions will be 35 minutes in length, which includes time for Q&A at the end. Training day sessions will be held on Monday.

The API Summit is the only networking event for inspectors and other inspection support professionals in the industry. As stated by attendees, “The API Summit is the best inspection related conference in the petroleum industry”.
