BRIGHTON, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Brighton Marine, Inc., one of Greater Boston’s longstanding non-profits supporting servicemembers, military retirees and veterans, is joining with local veterans to assemble hundreds of backpacks for deserving Greater Boston students.
The event takes place Thursday at Brighton Marine’s main campus in Brighton, Mass.
The primary recipients of the backpacks are students supported by Boston’s local Bottom Line chapter, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping degree-aspiring students of color from under-resourced communities get into and through college and successfully launch a career.
“Tomorrow’s mission for Brighton Marine is to make a tangible difference in the new school year for these bright students and the future they aspire to create for themselves and our community,” said Rosye Cloud, Chair and CEO of Brighton Marine. “Although much of Brighton Marine’s mission over our past 40-plus years in Greater Boston has been providing healthcare, housing and hope for servicemembers, veterans and their families, this is an additional way to support our local community.”
